At the first visit with my forensic psychologist, she said ‘One day you will walk with your head held high.’ I didn’t believe her one single bit. In no way did I see what would eventuate, but I did know this; sitting behind bars I was determined to do something with this experience to help other women. To be acknowledged is mind-blowing. A little of my journey from prison to being a finalist in the Changemaker category of the Women with Altitude Awards can be read here.
